Working on a New Look

***CAUTION BLOG UNDER CONSTRUCTION***

In a couple of weeks, Heather Wright-Porto (http://www.blogsbyheather.com/) is going to add my new blog header that I designed w/ MDS.   I don't have the software or the know how to add it myself so I thought it was best left to the professionals.

I have been working on some other goodies for my blog.

Here's a few of the things I have designed for my blog.
Please, be kind!  This is my first try at any of this.

Time to Feed My Pig....

Terry cleaned his change holder (ashtray) out  last night and brought in all his change.  Evan absolutely loves to feed his pig.  I know a great present for Evan--a roll of pennies.

I updated my MDS and was so excited to find the new In-Colors!  I used the Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade on this page.  I love these new colors.  Aren't they bright and cheery?!
Did you notice the tail on my page title?  It's a little square.  Shhhh!  Don't tell.  :)

Kind Thanks

I completely fell in love with the cute little Pretty Postage card on page 213 of the new catalog. Yep, I'm telling you that I like a purple card AGAIN.  It is strange I know.

My card isn't exactly like the one in the catalog.  I used Thank you Kindly stamp set for the sentiment.  I made it for my Hostess and added a coupon inside for her.

It's a fun little card to make--

Have you looked at all the great cards in the catalog?  If you are ever in need of inspiration page through it.   It is way better than some of the card magazines I have subscribed to over the years.  ;)

If you do not have a demostrator and would like a new catalog email me at stampiepoo@gmail.com  I charge $5 for my catalogs and $4.95 to ship.

Wedding Card Tutorial

A few weeks ago, I made my niece a wedding card and I had several requests for directions and measurements.

Parts & Pieces:
Stamp Set: Word Play (I used Occasional Quotes on my first card, but that has retired)
Paper Daisies
Baja Breeze Ink
Brad
Big Shot
Vintage Wallpaper Folder
Glue Dots
Dimensionals
Snail
Paper Cutter
Whisper White Cardstock
Accent Color Cardstock (I used Baja Breeze)
From Bottom to Top Measurements:
Whisper White Base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 -standard A2 when folded
Baja Breeze 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 /8
Whisper White strips 7/8 x 5
Baja Breeze band 4 x 1 1/2
Whisper White band 4 x 1 3/8

Place all four of your strips in your Vintage Wallpaper folder and emboss using your Big Shot.

Round the bottom of your strips using your corner rounder punch.

Trim all four strips to 4 1/2" long.

Using your snail adhere your strips to your Whisper White mat apprx. 1/16" apart.

Attach to your Baja Breeze Mat.

Stamp your sentiment in Baja Breeze ink.  Mount Whisper White Band to Baja Breeze Band.

Build your flower using brad of choice.  I am using up my Pretties kits, but would recommend the rhinestone brads from the current catalog.

Using dimensionals, add front of card to Whisper White base.

While I never charge for my step by step tutorials, I would appreciate tips if you found this tutorial helpful.

Thank you!

Vellum Flowers

We haven't had rain here in a couple weeks and it has been hot hot hot.  Well this morning we woke up to an eerie green sky, 70 mph wind, thunder and lightning and driving rain.

While the storm didn't last long it did some damage.  The wind took out two large sections of the tree in the goat and sheep's pasture.
We also lost a good size branch out of the big tree in the backyard.  Luckily it missed the swing.  Riley Kate would have been so upset if it would have broke that old swing. We have some clean up to do today--luckily it's only supposed to be 89 degrees and muggy.  LOL

Now on to the reason you actually visit my blog.  The good stuff...

Here are some vellum flowers I made using the scallop circle punch.
I sponged color onto 8 punched scallop circles, scrunched them up and make these cute bookmarks. I hope the ladies in the Hostess Club enjoy them.
I think they are so neat. They look almost like carnations.
